Welcome to our Web site.
Hi! We are Steve and Cathy Toth and in love with Goldens! We got involved with Goldens in 2000 when we got our first puppy, named Buddy. This began a whole adventure new for us in training him for hunt titles and obedience. We live in an ideal area, the Kettle Moraine State Forest which has many areas designated for both land and water dog training. Since then will have added two females to our household Sabrina an Angel. Our dogs have hunt test and field backgrounds. Steve is an avid hunter and takes our dogs pheasant hunting often. The dogs get 100-200 pheasants shot over them during the course of a year. Steve also enjoys duck hunting, and the area we live in has excellent opportunities. Our dogs and Steve travel to North Dakota every year for a special duck hunting trip they all enjoy. We believe the key to an excellent dog in the field, is a combination of both obedience and field training. A dog who doesn't obey simply can be frustrating whether you are hunting or doing a field test it can be a disaster. Steve apprenticed under Dick & Peg Batting at the Village Dog House in Lamartine, WI. Dick & Peg have many OTCH Titled dogs and are considered some of the best obedience trainers in the country. Their insight allowed Steve to Title Buddy as a Utility Dog at 2 years old. Part of our training regimen involves working with two clubs we are members of, Wisconsin Amateur Field Trail Club, a AKC club, and Horicon Marsh Hunting Retriever Club, a UKC club. The training has many advantages in that some members can gain experience from more advanced trained dogs, the scenarios are such that they condition a dog for an actual hunt test setting, and lastly, the social aspect of dogs learning to be around people and other dogs and behave appropriately. Steve is also a UKC Judge, licensed to judge all of the retriever levels and also upland testing. We are breeders of racy field Golden Retrievers styled after the older lines of darker coats.
Dark in color and sure to be a star.
